This multimedia painting is made from a Photograph of the ‘Kandhariya Mahadev Temple’. It is one of the most adorned temples amongst many others, famous for the erotic figurines of Khajuraho, in Madhya Pradesh. The idea of giving stone texture to the artwork, comes from a thought that when you touch the painting, it gives you the feel of touching the actual wall of the temple. The clay miniature figurines are all hand moulded & modified in various ways. Later, it was all painted using acrylic colours & secured with varnish. The whole process is done in many layers & each of the layers need it’s time to dry, hence it took near to 2 months to complete this work.
The details & finesse of the artwork is worth the attention.
