Guardians is a 15” x 45” ink on watercolour paper artwork made to illustrate the directional guardians from Chinese mythology - 
 
Azure Dragon of the East, 
Vermilion Bird of the South, 
White Tiger of the West, 
Black Tortoise of the North. 
 
It is an ink painting, deriving inspiration from traditional Chinese painting techniques, using a single colour. The creatures are my interpretations of the myths, drawn fierce but in harmony.
