The title says “Char Dham – Heavenly Abode” because it's believed in the Hindu culture that the Hindu Gods reside in these temples and if we visit these temples even once in our lifetime then we go to heaven.

The painting represents Char Dham, the four popular Hindu temples located in four directions of India.

To represent the broad diversity and culture of India, the temples are painted in a way to be full of life.

In the center, the painting depicts the emergence of Lord Shiva from the temple blessing us with his presence and showering in divine light, behind one can see the creation of universe as Lord Shiva is known as the creator of universe.

On the top right side there is a huge blue cloud symbolizing the presence of the ultimate being whose form is unknown.

Above one can see the sky full of twists and turns showing the complexities of life and problems one faces in daily life. The two cranes in dark pink show a symbol of miracle and presence of hope and positivity in our world.

Down below there is a river with beautiful blooming lotuses and symbolically representing the presence of female divinity. The land on the other side is however calm just as it is outside a temple.
